PhotoGIMP is a graphical user interface for GIMP designed by Slik for F-Spot. GIMP has been considered by many to be a (probably unfairly) inferior copy of Photoshop in terms of features. PhotoGIMP is a personal attempt to bring some of the best features of Photoshop and make them accessible to those who don't want to delve into a command line interface, to people who just want to get their photos out of the PC in no time. After all the efforts to eliminate the M31 star cluster from the CMB map, the question of how the stars formed in that part of the sky has been raised again. I asked Dr. Claudia Scaringi of the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II for her thoughts on this question. She responded with this paper: “SUMMARY We find that the distribution of galaxies in the COSMOS field (Scoville et al., 2007) can be modeled as a Gaussian-random halo distribution with properties typical of LCDM, but with a variance that is significantly lower than observed. We find the best fit to the galaxy distribution is achieved using a Navarro-Frenk-White profile, with a concentration parameter of c=4.6. In this configuration the central density is 25 times higher than the critical density for the formation of massive dark matter halos. The projected surface density of satellite galaxies is, however, not significantly different from that predicted by simulations for LCDM halos. These results do not rule out the possibility of forming M31-like systems within the halo of the COSMOS field. The main result of our study is that the central density of the halos of COSMOS galaxies is not significantly higher than what we expect for the $\Lambda$CDM universe. This result strengthens the view that the low surface density of galaxies found in the field is not due to a lack of dark matter halos. The only parameter significantly lower than LCDM is the variance of the NFW halos, which is smaller than expected. More than 60% of the local luminous satellites of the main group of galaxies lie beyond 50 Mpc, well beyond the virial radius of the main group, therefore there is no evidence for any tidal effect or strong interaction between the two groups. The expected number of satellite galaxies within 100 Mpc from the COSMOS galaxies is quite small (
Adds a few more Shortcut and plug-ins that directly mimic those of Photoshop, like a bunch of new Filter commands. FLATPAK Recommended for: GIMP 2.10+ Requires: GIMP 2.10+ Supported OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 17.04 Ubuntu 16.10 Ubuntu 17.04 Ubuntu 17.10 Ubuntu 18.04 Ubuntu 18.10 Description: Flatpak is a free software app and app store provided by Canonical and included in the Ubuntu. Flatpak is a cross-distro app delivery and isolation technology, which provides the installation of applications that are compatible with both Ubuntu and Fedora. Basically, Flatpak is a technology that allows applications to be shared between Linux and macOS operating systems. As of 2017, Flatpak is the only widely supported distribution-independent sandbox and packaging technology for Linux. In the event you are wondering why we are talking about Flatpak right now, let's first say that this is mainly because of the upcoming release of Ubuntu 17.10. The next release of the Ubuntu operating system is set to be released in October and so far it is not known if Ubuntu will include Flatpak in its core. However, Flatpak is recommended to be used in conjunction with flatpaks because of the sheer fact that it offers the same functionality, but with a slightly easier integration and at a lower cost. While the idea of using Flatpak is not entirely new, it is certain that it is taking the Linux world by storm. It is worth mentioning that Flatpak provides a "container" for applications, and this is different from the standard way of downloading applications on Linux. The main differences between Flatpak and standard packaging are: Flatpak is a package manager that is completely free of charge, while standard Linux packages come with a certain cost. Unlike standard packages, Flatpak allows you to install applications for a single user (which can be an administrator or a user with sudo permissions), but only for one user at a time. Since Flatpak is based on app bundles, you can only use Flatpak in Linux distributions that support it. Unlike normal Linux packages, Flatpak is built for cross-distro distribution, so you can only use it with a specific Linux distribution and not all Linux distributions. For Flatpak to work, it requires some libraries installed on your system. For users, Flatpak is ideal b78a707d53
Search for PhotoGIMP in the Flatpak Repository. Download PhotoGIMP (GIMP is not yet available for flatpak). Extract the archive in your home directory. Replace the existing files in GIMP.
